*resurfacing and a photo overload from NY*

Heeeeellloooo blogland! It has been so very long since I have posted, life got a little crazy overwhelming for a wee bit, and now we are back to the typical chaos that I feel much more comfortable with! I had started this post back in July, after a visit to NY to see family and friends. This is basically a photo dump of the trip, no captions and no synopsis whatsoever. Create your own caption kind of post! This trip was absolutely nourishing to all of our spirits, and we are ready to go back again as soon as possible. Sophia left NY slightly obsessed with doggies, after spending a week with the amazing Monty, my brother's new puppy. Now she can be found at any given moment, carrying around one of her stuffed doggies, and don't even THINK about taking it away from her while she is eating. All hell will break loose.

In other news, one of the reasons life had been so completely overwhelming for me was because I was absolutely consumed with studying for the licensing boards. I finished my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy-Clinical Psych 6 years ago, and after the move to Colorado and life happening, I finally decided it was now or never. After many years of practicing as a pretend MFT, I decided I am not a fan of Marriage/Couples therapy, and working with families is not my absolute favorite, so why have those letters after my name if I dislike them so much? So instead I took the LPC exam (super general-Licensed Professional Counselor), and holy cannoli, I PASSED!

Now I am getting back into the routine of not having my nose in my books, I'm looking forward to being here more often!

ps.....to all my family that made this trip beyond awesome, I thank you a million times over. Sophia and Kaden look through the pics every single day.

*the joy of a seat*

~no one is doing anything to make her laugh like this, except for the pure joy of sitting. She is ecstatic over her chair!
I have so much to catch up on with this blog, and I apologize for being away so long. Stay tuned for a photo overload post from our journey back to NY a few weeks ago, we are finally starting to get back into the groove of life again.
Speaking of our journey, Sophia learned two important things while we were in NY, she adores Doggies and she has found new love in the simplest of things, a chair. I regret that when her birthday came around, I debated getting her one of those armchairs from Pottery Barn, but due to lack of funds, I convinced myself it was a silly 1st bday gift and put it out of my mind. While in NY, Sophia fell head over heels for Nora's Cinderella chair (pictured below), and we decided that she had to have one of her own.
Three big thank yous to Aunt Teresa for the Toys R Us gift card that we used to get the chair, to Nora for introducing us to this incredibly simple concept, and to my Dad for gifting us these sweet camera that caught this pic that will bring me insane amounts of joy when I need it most.

~so happy in her little chair, with her Monty look a like doggie snuggling beside her.

ode to dads.

*heartburst*

Happy Father's Day to all of the amazing dads out there!!The examples you set for your little ones (and big ones too!) make all the difference!

I feel so incredibly grateful and blessed to have married such a self less, genuine and caring man, and then to throw in that he is the coolest and most playful daddy to our littles? Holy cannoli, I hit the jackpot. I cannot imagine life without him!
He have always helped me keep my sanity when I felt I might lose it.  A big thanks to him for loving our littles with every morsel that he is!

I have been blessed with examples of what was inspiring before I entered this chapter of parenting, and there are so many dads that I love, am inspired by and look up to.  My dad, who inspires me to be more authentic and true to myself everyday, who pretty much *gets* everything about me and truly loves me anyway, and who is always someone I can trust and lean on, no matter what. My brother, who has always been my hero, and then became a dad and now he is truly a superhero. He is truly one of the coolest dads on the planet. Every dad should rock out with their kids on a daily basis, too many littles struggles from lack of this. Our family does not.

Here's a shout out to all the dad's out there who give all they have for their families. We couldn't do it without you. I wouldn't even want to try.
Cheers to all the Dads out there!

~For Father's Day, I got Chad tickets for he and Kaden to go to Kaden's very first Rockies game! Not sure who had more fun.

They took the train down to Coors Field....kaden was loving it!

~poor Sophia. she puked a little at daycare and I apparently used her spare outfit there and didn't have another one, so this is how she greeted me when I came home from work. She is rockin that shirt!

*currently*

oh my. I have been misssing from this space for awhile now, and that makes me sad...I have every intention of getting back in the blogging game in a short while. In the meantime, I am trying to be present with my littles, make some big changes at work, and figure out what I want this space to look like...so in the meantime.....I might be posting quite a few *currently* posts. Happy Mother's Day to all of the incredible mamas out there, those with the littles and the bigs, those of furbabies, those watching over us, and those mamas on their journey to holding their precious bundles. Cheers to you mamas!

Wondering: what life will be like in 5 years....random. I try so hard to hang on to the moments, yet it amazes me how fast time goes by. My itty bitty girl is not so itty bitty anymore....cannot imagine these two in 5 years, and how crazy fun life will be for us all.

Feeling thankful: So many things For the sun and rain simultaneously dancing with one another all this week. Semi-real rain is uncommon in Colorado, and we got a bit of it each day WITH some incredible thunderstorms, with gorgeous 80 degree days filled with sunshine! Also, For ear tubes. Whoever created these is a flippin genius! Sophia is sleeping better now (for the first time since exiting Mommy's cozy place!), she seems so happy and filled with joy now. Also for my amazing in laws and my incredible family who I CANNOT wait to see in just two months!

Watching: Glee. That is it, it is my one guilty pleasure that I cannot shake off. This season is really not very good, but it's like a horrific car accident I cannot turn away from. And I secretly wish I was in Glee club. There are a zillion shows I want to get into, but have not for one reason or another.

Working on: balance. always. One day I will figure it out! Oh and how come I cannot meal plan??? Each week, I try to sit down and come up with a two week plan, I make two out of the 10 meals, forget three or four of the main ingredients, and then just wing it. Or anyone who works with me knows I hit the store every single day on my lunch break to get whatever I missed.
Loving: watching my little ones morph into little people, excitement for our trip to NY, progress, banana chocolate chip muffins, kale chips, our cozy house, watching our beautiful aspens bloom in the backyard, figuring out how to tame Sophia's crazy hairdo, kaden's fashion shows, springtime, rediscovering old music that I have been secretly missing.

Thanks to Danielle for the original inspiration to these *currently* posts! What all have you been up to lately? Would love to see your own *currently* post!
